I use photobucket. They let you store pics and videos. And if you use photobucket you don't have to use the above code. All you have to do is check the box below the picture (or video) and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Generate HTML and IMG code" it will open a new screen and you can copy the code from one of the first two boxes.
But if you have a URL from somewhere else, it's just easier to use the code listed above.
